About the role
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Job type: Permanent
Salary: £14.56p/h
Working Pattern & Hours: This is a full time role, averaging 37.5 hours per week, worked on a two week rotating shift pattern:
Week 1: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm (1 hour lunch break), Saturday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Week 2: Tuesday to Friday, 1:00pm – 9:30pm (1 hour lunch break)
Location: Warehouse based in Lancashire, WN8
At Chemist4U, we’re looking for a Picking Team Leader to oversee order picking within our Warehouse. You’ll lead and support a team of 10 pickers to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. Working closely with the Operations Manager and Team Leaders across your zone and others, you’ll help ensure a smooth and efficient order flow.

About You
As a Picking Team Leader you enjoy being on the floor, leading from the front, and supporting your team through a busy shift. You’re approachable, practical, and calm under pressure, and your team knows they can rely on you for clear direction and support. You’re comfortable juggling priorities, keeping things moving, and stepping in when needed to make sure orders are picked accurately and on time. You communicate clearly, work well with other Team Leaders and Operations, and understand the importance of teamwork in keeping things running smoothly. Most importantly, you care about doing a good job, following the right processes, and creating a positive, safe environment where people feel supported and motivated to do their best.

- Supervise, support and motivate a team of 10 pickers
- Allocate daily tasks to meet operational priorities
- Conduct team briefs, training sessions and shift handovers
- Monitor attendance, timekeeping and performance
- Ensure accurate picking and handling of goods to next zone
- Maintain stock accuracy through correct picking processes and exceptions handling practices
- Coordinate with Team Leaders from other zones
- Ensure housekeeping standards are always maintained
- Ensure all picks are completed in line with dispatch cut-off time
- Verify product expiration dates and storage conditions during picking process
- Report and investigate incidents, near-misses and picking errors
- Ensure the team follow SOPs while performing their tasks
- Promote and enforce a positive safety culture within the team
- Ensure picked orders are transferred efficiently to other areas
- Coach and improve individual and team output.

- Ability to manage pace, accuracy and pressure simultaneously
- Strong communication and people-management skills

- Excellent attention to details
- Previous experience in a leadership role
- Ability to adapt and guide the team in fast-pace setting
- Basic experience working with WMS system and Microsoft Office.
