Role Type: Full-time, permanent.
Location: This role is available in our Global Headquarters in Cambridge, as well as our London, Manchester, Bristol, and Edinburgh offices.

About the Role
As a Graphic Designer in our Creative team, you will be at the forefront of delivering diverse and intricate creative projects for both our clients in the healthcare sector and the company. Projects include brand development, the design and layout of infographics, as well as the creation of event materials. Depending on your skillset, you may also contribute to motion and digital projects, such as the design of interactive materials for exhibitions, video editing, animations, and the creation of eLearning modules.

You will be involved in every stage of the project lifecycle, from initial concept development to full production, allowing for real autonomy and creativity. This involves early-stage collaboration with other designers, project managers, and clients to define the project scope and objectives. You will then produce high-quality design materials, providing technical insight and offering guidance as needed.

At Costello Medical, our Creative team is passionate about data visualisation and enhancing the communication of scientific content. We are also committed to supporting projects where we believe our skills can make a meaningful difference to healthcare. Therefore, you will have the opportunity to support not only commercial projects, but also pro bono work for charities and the public sector.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Developing Engaging Content: Creating a variety of visually appealing materials, including infographics, posters, event materials, and other design pieces for both internal teams and external clients
  • Strong Collaboration: Working closely with creative colleagues and project managers at the outset of projects to determine the design scope, purpose, and strategic approach to be taken
  • Effective Communication: Clearly communicating project requirements to project teams and providing input on any technical queries
  • Quality and Delivery: Ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality
  • Exceptional Service: Providing outstanding customer service, building strong partnerships with internal teams and external clients

Hybrid Working Policy
We believe that having face-to-face time in the office holds many benefits and is central to ensuring that the community we have created, where people have a workplace they belong to and feel part of, is never lost. At the same time, we recognise that homeworking can improve work life balance, reduce commuting times and costs, and provide the opportunity to juggle personal commitments. Therefore, we offer flexible working arrangements that allow our colleagues who have passed probation to work from home up to half their time, measured across a 2-week rolling period. During your probationary period (normally the first 6 months of the role), you will be able to work from home 1 day per week.

Requirements
Essential requirements for the role are:
  • A degree-level or higher qualification in a design-related discipline (minimum 2.1 or equivalent), in addition to a highly innovative portfolio
  • Proven experience working in an agency or commercial environment
  • Extensive experience using Adobe InDesign and Illustrator, as well as familiarity with other software in the Adobe Creative Cloud
  • A proven ability to generate, execute, and oversee a variety of creative concepts
  • A problem-solving mindset, and the ability to think outside the box
  • Confidence in presenting work to a wide range of audiences, including internal colleagues and external clients
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills, a high level of productivity, and the flexibility to adapt to changing deadlines
  • An ability to manage conflicting demands, prioritising tasks effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build robust and sustainable working relationships

What We Offer
  • A starting salary of £28,000 to £33,000 per annum outside of London, as well as a discretionary profit share bonus paid twice per year
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank and public holidays, as well as a holiday buy and sell scheme
  • Flexible working hours and the chance to work from home for up to half of your working time after passing probation
  • Private Medical Insurance which offers comprehensive cover on a “medical history disregard” basis
  • Paid study leave and funding for external qualifications
  • Critical Illness Cover, Income Protection and Life Assurance

As an equal opportunity employer, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce. Please note that this role does not meet the eligibility criteria for visa sponsorship.
