Position Overview
As Associate Director Marketing for the Region North, you will play a key leadership role in driving the commercial success and sustainable growth of Shockwave Medical across UK, Ireland, Nordics and Benelux regions. You will be responsible for shaping and executing the regional marketing strategy in close alignment with global business objectives, while ensuring strong adaptation to local healthcare systems, regulatory requirements, and reimbursement environments. This role requires strong strategic thinking, the ability to influence across functions, and proven experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies in a complex, multi-country MedTech environment.

You will collaborate closely with regional sales leadership, market access, medical affairs, and global marketing teams to support market penetration, product adoption, and patient access. As a senior member of the regional marketing organization, you will also contribute to building people capabilities, robust processes, and effective ways of working that support long-term growth.

This position reports directly to the Region North Sales Director, with a dotted line to International Marketing leadership.

Travel: Regular travel across the North region and occasional international travel required (approximately 60%).

Key Responsibilities
  • Regional Marketing Leadership: Shape and drive the Region North marketing strategy in alignment with global priorities and local market needs.
  • Go-to-Market and Portfolio Strategy: Develop and execute regional go-to-market strategies across the product lifecycle, from launch readiness to mature portfolio optimization.
  • Product Launch Excellence: Lead and coordinate regional product launches across all Region North markets.
  • Market Access and Reimbursement: Partner with market access, health economics, and reimbursement teams to support access strategies and value communication.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with Sales, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and Global Marketing.
  • External Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong working relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and relevant clinical stakeholders.
  • People Leadership and Capability Building: Provide functional leadership, coaching, and development to future marketing team members.
  • Governance, Performance, and Compliance: Support regional budget planning, performance tracking, and reporting.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 8–10+ years of marketing experience within the medical device, MedTech, or healthcare industry, including responsibility for regional or multi-country initiatives.
  • Marketing Expertise: Proven experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies and product launches in complex healthcare environments.
  • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of UKI, Benelux and Nordics healthcare systems and reimbursement landscapes.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively across functions, countries, and geographies in a matrix organization.
  • Analytical and Strategic Thinking: Strong business acumen with the ability to translate data and insights into clear strategic direction.
  • Languages: Fluency in English required; additional European languages are a plus.
