The Role
As the Director, Clinical Rare Disease, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise across LifeArc’s rare disease translational science initiatives. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to design and execute clinical development plans that bridge the gap between laboratory research and patient benefit.

The Role
As the Director, Clinical Rare Disease, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise across LifeArc’s rare disease translational science initiatives. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to design and execute clinical development plans that bridge the gap between laboratory research and patient benefit.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the clinical strategy for the Rare Disease Translational Challenge, ensuring projects are designed with clear clinical endpoints and regulatory pathways.
- Provide expert clinical input into the selection and evaluation of new rare disease projects and investments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical KOLs, patient advocacy groups, and regulatory bodies.
- Oversee the design and implementation of early-phase clinical trials and natural history studies.
- Collaborate with the business development and investment teams to assess the clinical viability of external opportunities.
- Represent LifeArc at international conferences and within the rare disease community.
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD) with specialist training in a relevant clinical area (e.g., Paediatrics, Genetics, Neurology).
- Significant experience in clinical development within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or academic sectors, specifically in rare diseases.
- Proven track record of designing and executing clinical development plans and early-phase trials.
- Deep understanding of the regulatory landscape for orphan drugs and rare disease treatments.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex clinical data for non-clinical audiences.
