About the Role
LifeArc is looking for a Director of Preclinical Strategy and Portfolio to lead our efforts in Rare Neurological Diseases. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping the translational strategy and managing a diverse portfolio of preclinical programs aimed at delivering life-changing treatments to patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the preclinical and translational strategy for the Rare Neurological Diseases portfolio.
- Oversee the selection, prioritisation, and progression of preclinical assets from discovery through to clinical candidate selection.
- Provide strategic leadership to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between scientific objectives and commercial potential.
- Identify and evaluate external innovation opportunities, including academic collaborations and biotech partnerships.
- Represent LifeArc at international conferences and engage with key opinion leaders in the neurology space.
- Manage portfolio budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure delivery of key milestones.
Requirements
- PhD in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or a related biological science.
- Extensive experience in preclinical drug discovery and translational science within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Proven track record of leading successful portfolio strategies in neurology or rare diseases.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing high-performing scientific teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
