We are looking for a Bank Physiotherapist to join a team committed to providing an effective, evidence based physiotherapy service to both inpatients and outpatients. The role requires maintaining the highest standards of individualised patient care in a safe and friendly environment following chartered Society of Physiotherapy Core and Service Standards.

Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
- Diploma / BSc Degree in Physiotherapy
- HCPC / CSP Registered.
- Minimum 3 years post graduate
- Significant post qualification clinical experience in musculoskeletal techniques.
- Evidence of post graduate study.
- Orthopaedic, general surgery, respiratory experience
Skills
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to deal sensitively with patients and liaise effectively with medical and other staff.
- A readiness to become involved with demands and needs outside routine requirements.
Clinical Duties
- Work as an experienced member of the inpatient team that provides physiotherapy to New Victoria wards and assists with fitting of equipment.
- Support the manager in providing a comprehensive service, using initiative to meet and organise the demands of the service.
- Take responsibility for the daily organisation of the service on request, coordinating activities within available resources.
- Check medical notes to check change in patient status, operation notes in detail to ensure correct protocol followed and correct advice and exercises given.
- Coordinate and monitor the progress of patients within their plan of care and communicate relevant changes to the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure practice is in accordance with HCPC and CSP codes of professional conduct.
- Take charge of the clinical area and lead in maintaining standards of physiotherapy practice.
- Carry out and advise/supervise staff in assessment, planning, delivery and evaluating of inpatient physiotherapy service.
- Contribute to development of inpatient practice based on research and audit.
- Effectively communicate complex information to patients, relatives, carers and the team.
- Prioritise and delegate clinical duties.
- Manage and provide all aspects of patient care, planning and delivery.
Management Duties
- Plan and manage the weekend rota with assistance of the Physiotherapy Manager.
- Contribute to development and implementation of local policies.
- Assist in ensuring equipment is checked regularly and medical equipment log maintained.
- Promote safety and identify potential risks.
- Participate in investigation of complaints and adverse events.
- Create and maintain good working relationships.
Administrative Duties
- Ensure clinical records and documentation are maintained accurately.
- Contribute to evaluation of care delivery and implement improvements.
- Report clinical incidents and near misses.
- Attend and participate in meetings.
- Maintain knowledge of and use the appointment system.
Education
- Participate in multidisciplinary audit activity.
- Communicate research developments to colleagues.
- Undertake continuing professional development.
- Facilitate clinical supervision.
- Introduce new staff to duties and act as mentor.
