Description

About Perci Health
Perci Health is reimagining how cancer care is delivered and experienced. As the UK’s largest virtual cancer clinic, we provide whole-person, end-to-end support - from risk reduction and early detection to rehabilitation and long-term recovery.

We exist to close the critical care gap in modern cancer services, combining digital innovation with expert-led human care. Backed by Macmillan Cancer Support and invested in by over 35 of the UK’s leading oncologists and cancer surgeons, we are building a new model of care, one that’s proactive, personalised, and precision-led.

Role Purpose
We are seeking a Head of Data to lead Perci Health’s data capability at a pivotal moment in our growth. This role is responsible for building the foundations of a world-class data function - establishing infrastructure, governance, and insight capability that enables Perci to deliver increasingly personalised, evidence-led cancer care. Sitting within the Technology team and reporting directly to the CTO, it is a senior leadership role that will directly shape our product roadmap, clinical outcomes, and commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and own Perci’s data strategy, roadmap, and governance framework, ensuring data is treated as a core organisational asset
  • Build and lead a high-performing data team — including data engineers, analysts, and data scientists — scaling the function in line with business growth
  • Establish and maintain robust, scalable data infrastructure and pipelines that support both clinical and commercial needs
  • Partner closely with the clinical, product, and commercial teams to translate data into actionable insights that drive better patient outcomes and business performance
  • Lead on data governance, privacy, and compliance — including GDPR, NHS Data Security Standards, and other relevant healthcare regulations
  • Develop and own our approach to clinical data and real-world evidence, enabling Perci to demonstrate impact and support research partnerships
  • Drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organisation, supporting a culture of measurement, experimentation, and learning
  • Work with the CTO and leadership team to define key metrics, build reporting infrastructure, and provide board-level data visibility
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to leverage AI and machine learning to enhance Perci’s clinical and operational capabilities
  • Represent data at the leadership level, contributing to fundraising narratives, investor reporting, and due diligence processes

Requirements
Essential - Must Have
  • Proven experience in a senior data leadership role (Head of Data, VP Data, or equivalent) in a fast-paced, data-intensive environment — ideally in healthtech, digital health, or a regulated industry
  • Strong technical grounding in data engineering and analytics, with hands-on experience with modern data stacks (e.g. dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, Looker, or similar)
  • Experience building and scaling data teams from an early stage, including hiring, developing, and retaining talent
  • Solid understanding of data governance, privacy regulations (GDPR), and information security in a regulated or clinical context
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership and board
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen — able to connect data capability to business outcomes and fundraising narratives
  • Proven ability to operate autonomously in a high-growth startup environment, balancing strategic priorities with hands-on delivery

Desirable - Nice to Have
  • Experience working with clinical or patient-level data, including real-world evidence, clinical outcomes data, or NHS datasets
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g. HL7, FHIR) or NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit requirements
  • Experience contributing to Series A/B fundraising processes, including preparing data rooms and investor-facing analytics
  • Background in applying machine learning or AI within a product or clinical context

Benefits
  • 30 days of annual leave per year, in addition to UK statutory and public holidays
  • 3 days paid annually to volunteer with a charity or community group of your choice
  • Access to the YuLife wellbeing app
  • Company laptop and any additional equipment required for the role
  • Access to Perci's pension scheme
  • Income protection cover
  • Enhanced company sick pay
  • Enhanced maternity and adoption pay
  • Access to over 400 co-working spaces across the UK
  • Remote first working, supporting genuine work-life balance
  • Employee Share Option Incentivisation
