  • Customer focused with a partnership approach
  • Open, honest and transparent
  • Innovative
  • Ethical, trustworthy and caring

The Opportunity
Radar Healthcare's new Platform Engineer will be an active, hands‑on contributor during a period of business restructure, supporting the implementation and modernisation of the company’s cloud infrastructure and platform services. The role focuses on improving reliability, performance, scalability, security and developer experience, enabling engineering teams to deliver software quickly and safely. You will work closely with platform and engineering teams to implement agreed designs, owning platform components across build, operation and continuous improvement, and using automation and modern practices to reduce toil and accelerate delivery. We are primarily Azure‑based, with a small footprint in AWS.

What you’ll be doing to make a difference:
  • Build, operate and maintain resilient, scalable platform foundations across environments, working from agreed designs and standards.
  • Support and run services on Azure and AWS, applying least‑privilege access, audited controls and automation as standard.
  • Implement deployment workflows, self‑service capabilities, golden paths and reusable templates that help teams ship safely and efficiently.
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, with modular, DRY patterns, appropriate testing and CI/CD integration.
  • Apply SRE principles in day‑to‑day work, supporting capacity planning, reliability improvements and secure‑by‑default patterns.
  • Implement logging, metrics and tracing; create dashboards and alerts.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations and contribute to root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with development, security and operations teams to deliver platform capabilities and manage operational risk effectively.

Your journey so far...
  • Hands on experience operating and supporting workloads on Azure or AWS, including troubleshooting and production support.
  • Solid understanding of microservices based and distributed systems, and how they are deployed using containerised, serverless and VM based models.
  • Experience implementing and operating Terraform in multi zone production environments, using modular, DRY designs and secure state backends.
  • Good understanding of container lifecycles, image creation, networking and secure deployment automation.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar) covering build, test, security scanning, and secret management.
  • Comfortable scripting in PowerShell and/or Bash.
  • Experience with observability stacks such as Azure Monitor, ELK, Prometheus or Grafana.

Tech Stack: Containerisation, microservices, Terraform, Azure, AWS, GitHub actions

What we offer in return...
  • A competitive salary of up to £60,000 per year, dependent on experience
  • Flexible working – base expectation of 1 day per month in the office in Leeds
  • 25 days holiday (+ bank holidays) with option to buy more
  • Birthdays off and charity leave
  • Mental healthcare and Medicash healthcare cover
  • Life cover (3x salary) and enhanced family leave
  • Monthly allowance on flexible benefits platform
