About the Role
OrganOx is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Consumables team. You will be responsible for the design, development, and improvement of the consumable components used in our life-saving organ preservation technology. This role involves working across the full product lifecycle, from initial concept through to manufacturing and clinical use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for medical device consumables.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Conduct prototyping, testing, and validation of designs to ensure they meet performance and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are optimized for production (DFM/DFA).
  • Maintain technical documentation in accordance with ISO 13485 and FDA quality standards.
  • Support the investigation of product improvements and cost-reduction initiatives.

Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in mechanical design, ideally within the medical device or regulated industry.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection moulding, machining, and assembly.
  • Understanding of quality management systems and regulatory standards (ISO 13485).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
