"Pioneering organ preservation technology that makes every donated organ count"
OrganOx develops advanced organ preservation technology for transplantation. The company's flagship product, OrganOx metra, uses normothermic machine perfusion to maintain donor livers in near physiologic conditions for up to 12 hours. This enables clinicians to assess organ viability more accurately, reduces discard rates, and allows transplant centres to schedule procedures as planned operations. Founded in 2008 as a spinout from the University of Oxford, OrganOx serves transplant centres worldwide and was acquired by Terumo Corporation in 2025. The technology has been used in over 6,000 liver transplant procedures and continues shaping the future of organ transplantation through kidney perfusion research.

A world where every donated organ is transplanted successfully, where new therapies treat diseased organs before transplant, and where technology minimises the need for transplantation by enabling earlier medical interventions.
OrganOx exists to save lives by making every donated organ count, developing organ preservation technology that enables clinicians to assess viability accurately and transplant more organs successfully.
