"Portable diagnostics and digital tools that make emergency cancer care safer and more effective"
52North builds medical devices and digital tools that transform emergency cancer care. The Cambridge company develops Neutrocheck, a portable finger prick blood test identifying cancer patients at risk of neutropenic sepsis at home, and ACORN, a digital triage tool for remote management of oncology emergencies. These solutions reduce hospital visits, speed up diagnoses, and improve patient safety. Founded in 2018 as a University of Cambridge spinout, 52North combines diagnostics with artificial intelligence. The patented Aster platform measures multiple biomarkers from a single sample, bringing laboratory diagnostics to point of care and shifting emergency cancer care from reactive hospital attendance to proactive home monitoring.
