Butterwick Hospice provides specialist palliative care for babies, children and adults with life limiting illnesses across Teesside and County Durham. Operating from two hospice sites, the charity delivers inpatient care, day services, home care and bereavement support, completely free of charge. Each service supports not just patients but their whole family.
Founded in 1984 by Mary Butterwick OBE, the hospice began as a small day centre built on love and community spirit. Today it provides holistic care in a warm, homely environment where patients and families can make the most of every moment. The hospice relies on charitable donations and community fundraising to offer compassionate care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
