"Engineering biology to manufacture peptide and protein therapeutics with chemistries beyond nature."
Constructive Bio is a Cambridge biotechnology company that reprograms living cells to manufacture peptides and proteins containing non-canonical amino acids at industrial scale. Built on research at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, the company created Syn61, the world's first fully synthetic, recoded genome encoding building blocks beyond nature's standard 20 amino acids. The platform enables next-generation therapeutics previously impossible to produce sustainably, from stabilised GLP-1 peptides to site-specific antibody-drug conjugates. Combining whole genome writing with engineered translation, Constructive Bio delivers scalable fermentation manufacturing, bringing over 300 exotic chemistries into pharmaceutical development.

A world where biology can be designed and programmed to create any molecule needed for sustainable therapeutics and materials.
At Constructive Bio, our mission is to revolutionise biotechnology by rewriting the genetic code to enable manufacture of biomolecules and organisms that were previously unimaginable.
