About Derian House Children's Hospice
Derian House provides specialist respite and end of life care for more than 400 babies, children and young people with life limiting conditions across the North West. The hospice offers overnight stays, day care, holidays in lodges, and community support that reaches families in their homes. Every service wraps around the whole family, recognising parents and siblings need care too.
Care is free for families, but services cost £6 million to run each year. Founded in 1993 and named after brothers Derek and Ian Haydock, Derian House challenges misconceptions about children's hospices. This is not a sad place. It is where children make memories, celebrate birthdays, swim in the pool, watch films, and live as fully as their time allows.
