Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust delivers hospital and community services to the people of Gateshead and beyond. The Trust provides acute care, older people's mental health services, and a range of specialist treatments including bowel screening for around 7 million people and gynaecological cancer care from the Scottish Borders to Cumbria and Whitby. The organisation operates from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon Urgent Treatment Centre and Bensham Hospital, delivering care in hospital settings, in the community and in people's own homes. Services span emergency medicine, maternity, cancer care, diagnostics, mental health, screening and a wide range of outpatient and inpatient specialties, all focused on improving health outcomes and patient experience.
