Hospice at Home West Cumbria delivers palliative and end of life care to adults across 400 square miles of Western Cumbria. Founded in 1987, the charity provides home nursing, complementary therapies, lymphoedema treatment and family bereavement support, enabling people with life limiting illnesses to remain in their own homes surrounded by loved ones.
The organisation is internationally recognised for its model of home based care. Its 54 dedicated staff members and 116 volunteers work closely with NHS professionals to provide 24/7 nursing support, symptom management and emotional care. Every service is funded by local donations, ensuring that all money raised stays within the West Cumbrian community.
