About NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board
NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board plans, buys and oversees health services for the largest geographical area in England. With a budget of £7 billion, it ensures health services work well, are high quality and safe. The ICB brings together NHS bodies, local councils and the voluntary sector to tackle major health challenges and deliver better outcomes for patients.
The organisation works to join up health and care services, improve population wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. Despite high quality care, the region faces some of the poorest public health outcomes in the country. The ICB leads system wide transformation and continuous learning, supporting 3.2 million people across diverse communities.
