NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board plans, funds and coordinates health services across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield. The organisation manages NHS budgets and works with local partners to ensure 1.4 million people access the care they need. Rather than acting as a single regional body, the ICB operates through four place-based teams responding to distinct local needs. The board reduces health inequalities and builds services around communities. It allocates NHS funds to each place, empowering local decision making and joined-up delivery across hospitals, GP practices, social care and community organisations. This approach draws on the strengths of local people and professionals to support healthier lives.
