NHS Surrey and Sussex Integrated Care Board plans and commissions health and care services for just over three million residents across Surrey and Sussex. The organisation works to improve health outcomes, reduce inequalities, and secure value from NHS resources by coordinating service providers, aligning funding with long term needs, and transforming care pathways across urban, rural, and coastal communities.
Formed in April 2026 through the merger of NHS Surrey Heartlands and NHS Sussex, the ICB serves as strategic commissioner for the region. Its work focuses on delivering the shift from treatment to prevention, hospital to community, and analogue to digital, building health resilience in line with the Government's 10 Year Health Plan.
