Northern Ireland Hospice is a local charity delivering specialist respite, symptom-management and end-of-life palliative care to around 4,000 babies, children and adults each year across Northern Ireland. It provides care at its adult and children’s hospices and in local communities, supporting people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and the families around them. Since its first Hospice Community Nurse began work in 1983, the organisation has grown into a leader in specialist palliative care. Its person-centred, holistic approach helps people adjust to serious illness, supports families emotionally and psychologically, and extends to bereavement care after death—helping maximise quality of life when time is limited.
