PICS delivers NHS community health services across Nottinghamshire for over one million people. It provides 35 services from GP practices, care homes, and community clinics, designed to keep patients closer to home. Services include acute home visiting, respiratory care, frailty support, gynaecology, pharmacy, mental health, and end of life care. PICS staff form pathways between primary, secondary, social, and community care.
PICS supports ten Primary Care Networks by employing and managing their workforce and providing clinical governance. The organisation reduces GP workloads, cuts waiting times, and delivers value. The award winning Acute Home Visiting Service saved hospitals over eight million pounds in three years.
