Putnoe Medical Centre provides comprehensive NHS general practice services to around 12,000 patients in Bedford alongside a seven day walk in centre for urgent minor illness and injury. The practice combines routine GP appointments, chronic disease management and specialist nurse led clinics with an accessible walk in facility open every day, reducing pressure on emergency services. The centre uses SystmConnect, an online consultation platform that allows patients to book routine appointments without queuing on the phone. This streamlines access and gives clinical staff more time for complex care, supporting patients with diabetes, asthma, COPD, palliative needs and preventive health services from immunisations to cancer screening.
