South Central Ambulance Service provides emergency 999 response, NHS 111 urgent care advice and non-emergency patient transport to 4.4 million people across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire. Alongside ambulance crews and paramedics, the service employs clinical advisors, specialist practitioners and support staff who triage calls and ensure patients receive the right care at the right time. The trust operates as a clinically led integrated urgent care provider, working in partnership with hospitals and other NHS services. Staff face critical incidents, major incidents and daily pressures with professionalism, adapting rapidly to serve communities through extreme weather, peak demand and evolving healthcare needs.
