About St John's Hospice North Lancashire and South Lakes
St John's Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with life shortening illnesses across North Lancashire, South Lakes and parts of North Yorkshire. Services include an inpatient ward for symptom management and end of life care, Hospice at Home supporting people at home, Clinical Nurse Specialists for care planning, respite for carers, and bereavement support. All care is free of charge.
The hospice is a charity. Three quarters of the £5.1 million annual running costs come from local fundraising, donations, events and legacies, with one quarter from the NHS. Built by the community in 1986, St John's continues to serve because of the people who support it.
