St Leonard's Hospice provides specialist palliative and end of life care for terminally ill people and people with life limiting illnesses across York and North Yorkshire. For 40 years, the hospice has delivered care through its in patient unit, Hospice@Home service, and wellbeing programmes designed to meet each patient's needs and make the best of their lives.
The hospice operates as an independent charity rated Good by the Care Quality Commission. It costs £10.5 million annually to run, with only a quarter funded by the NHS. The remaining £7.5 million is raised through fundraising, retail and gifts in Wills to ensure patients and families receive care at home, in the community and at the hospice.
