St. Michael's Hospice is an independent charity delivering specialist palliative care to adults with life-limiting illnesses across North Hampshire. The hospice operates an In-Patient Unit, a Hospice at Home service, Living Well therapies and bereavement support for families and carers. Care is free at the point of delivery, focused on managing symptoms, supporting quality of life and offering choice when it matters most. Over 500 patients receive care each year from a team of more than 100 clinical staff, therapists and support workers, assisted by 700 volunteers. Only 22% of funding comes from the NHS. The remaining £15,000 needed daily is raised through community donations, fundraising events, legacy gifts and 12 retail shops.
