Tapping House provides free specialist palliative care to adults with life-limiting illnesses in Norfolk and North Cambridgeshire. The hospice operates an inpatient unit, Hospice at Home services, and the Tulip Centre for outpatient therapies. Each year, it supports 6,000 patients and families, delivering 700 health programmes and over 3,000 home visits. Founded in 1984, it serves a rural region of 300,000 people with one of the highest ageing populations in the country.
As an independent charity, less than a quarter of its £7 million annual costs come from government. The rest comes from community donations and fundraising, enabling the hospice to provide free care with dignity, choice, and comfort from diagnosis to end of life.
