The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust operates two district general hospitals, Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Princess Royal Hospital, providing emergency care, surgery, maternity, cancer services, and diagnostics for nearly half a million people across Shropshire, Telford, Wrekin, and mid Wales. The hospitals have over 700 beds, with specialist centres for women and children at Princess Royal and acute surgery at Royal Shrewsbury. As one of the county's largest employers with around 7,000 staff, the trust delivers outreach clinics, midwife led units, and community care. A major transformation programme launching in 2028 will modernise facilities, reinforcing the commitment to providing safe, high quality care for its communities.
