Description

STARS Technician - Product Quality Inspection

Location: United Kingdom - Witney
Category: Operations

Bring your passion, ideas and purpose to life in a company that can help you shape your career as you shape the future of healthcare.

Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings, and we have recently launched a new system that will revolutionise how people with diabetes around the world monitor their glucose levels. We are passionate about doing work that improves the quality of people’s lives.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a STARS Technician to join our Product Test team in providing quality and compliant sensor testing. Through visual inspection of sensors and undertaking a series of physical testing procedures, you will utilise laboratory equipment, machinery and instruments to perform sensor testing, as well as batch record review and approval to support product release, on-market stability, complaints, and product development trials.

You should be excited about working in a fast-paced environment within a hard-working and welcoming team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual who can effectively multi-task whilst working within the scope of procedures and protocols, and demonstrate strong communication and time management skills.

This is a night shift position, working a 4-on / 4-off shift pattern (7:00pm – 7:00am). We are looking for candidates who are available to start from July.

To be successful, you should have completed secondary education in English and Mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates with a scientific background, although we would welcome applicants with transferable skills. Experience in a regulated, quality-oriented industry with knowledge of GLP and GMP would be advantageous; however, full training will be provided.

Abbott has health/wellness and financial benefits that help provide security for you and your family. In addition to a competitive salary, Abbott offers a highly attractive benefits package which includes:
  • Defined-contribution pension scheme
  • Share ownership scheme
  • Private healthcare
  • Life assurance
  • Flexible benefits scheme which you can tailor to your own requirements

Here at Witney, we also like to help our employees live life to the fullest, and therefore we offer a range of optional initiatives for you to get involved in, including onsite allotments, couch to 5k campaigns, bee keeping, yoga and more!
