Description
Are you a caring, compassionate and attentive person who enjoys making a real difference?
We're looking for a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to support a sociable gentleman in his own home, helping him feel safe, comfortable and supported while respecting his independence and individual choices.
Come and Join Active Care in the Home
Meet the client:
Our client is a 71-year-old gentleman who enjoys an active and sociable lifestyle. He loves getting out and about every day, enjoys trips to the pub and is a big football fan!
Following a brainstem stroke in 2005, he lives with locked-in syndrome, which means he has complete paralysis and communicates using his eyes. It is important that those supporting him take the time to understand his individual communication style, respect his choices and ensure his voice is always heard.
He lives in his own two-bedroom bungalow, where he is supported by a live-in support worker from Active Care Group. To ensure he remains comfortable and well supported throughout the night, we are looking for a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker who can monitor his wellbeing, respond promptly to his requests and provide attentive, person-centred care.
The role also includes light domestic duties, such as ironing, washing floors and general household tasks, helping to keep his home clean, comfortable and welcoming.
We are looking for someone who is kind, reliable, patient and observant, with a genuine passion for providing person-centred support. Someone who will take the time to get to know him, understand his preferences and respect his independence, dignity and choices.

What to look forward to:
At Active Care Group we want everyone to feel welcome and supported. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. If you need any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment or interview process, just let us know and we’d be very happy to discuss this with you.
