Are you an experienced and compassionate Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful difference in end-of-life care?

AHP Suffolk CIC, in partnership with St Nicholas Hospice Care, is seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team supporting people receiving palliative and end-of-life care.

This is a unique opportunity to work across the community and hospice setting, helping patients live independently, comfortably, and meaningfully.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will deliver specialist, holistic palliative care to people with complex needs at the end of life. You will support patients to maintain independence, maximise quality of life and focus on what matters most to them. Working closely with families, carers and colleagues across the hospice, you will help people navigate the challenges of living with a life-limiting illness, dying and bereavement with compassion, dignity and respect in line with our values of compassion, dignity, person-centred care and quality of life.

This vacancy is 0.8 - 1 FTE.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Registration with the Health Care Professions Council
• Member of the RCOT or equivalent professional liability insurance
• Evidence of up-to-date, relevant CPD

Experience
Essential

• Demonstrable post graduate Occupational therapy knowledge and experience
• Experience of supervising, coaching and mentoring others
• Experience of supporting and delivering In-Service Training programmes
• Ability to apply developed knowledge and skills in order to demonstrate professional competence and fitness to practice
• Relevant experience to the role including assessment and management of functional ability
• Excellent knowledge of clinical risk assessment and risk management guidelines
• Awareness of current legislation
• Knowledge of primary care and community services

Desirable

• Post graduate training in palliative care
