Role OverviewAstraZeneca is seeking a Medical Director, Senior Patient Safety Physician to join our team in Luton. This senior leadership role sits within our global patient safety organization, driving pharmacovigilance strategy and ensuring the safe use of our medicines.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic medical leadership for patient safety across the product portfolio
- Lead safety surveillance activities for clinical trials and post-marketing products
- Conduct signal detection, risk assessment, and benefit-risk evaluations
- Oversee the preparation of safety regulatory documents and responses
- Manage and mentor a team of patient safety physicians and scientists
- Collaborate with clinical development, regulatory affairs, and other cross-functional teams
Qualifications- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with relevant clinical experience
- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical drug safety and pharmacovigilance
- Strong knowledge of global safety regulations and GVP guidelines
- Demonstrated leadership in a patient safety or pharmacovigilance function
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
