Description

Job summary
Help people with respiratory illness spend more time living well and less time in hospital. As Clinical Lead for Respiratory Medicine at Newham University Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, you will shape care across the ward, clinic and community for a population with diverse needs. From improving acute respiratory treatment and access to diagnosis to developing safe care at home through the respiratory virtual ward, you will have the opportunity to connect services around patients' lives. We are looking for someone who will develop colleagues, listen to patients and tackle the barriers that prevent people receiving timely, effective care.

We welcome applications from substantive consultants or doctors in equivalent senior medical appointments, with full GMC registration and a licence to practise, relevant clinical experience and evidence of leading improvement with multidisciplinary teams. You will report to and be responsible to the Clinical Director for Specialist and Integrated Medicine (SIM), and be accountable to the Divisional Director for Medicine. Your annual objectives will be agreed jointly with the Divisional Director and Clinical Director, alongside your development and mentoring needs. The three-year appointment is subject to satisfactory annual review and includes one programmed activity (approximately four hours per week), dependent on specialty size and complexity, and a £7,500 annual responsibility allowance
