Job summaryWe are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and highly motivated
Safeguarding Co-ordinator to join our friendly and supportive team. The role is for 24 hours a week over 3 days.
This role offers a genuine opportunity to improve the outcomes for some of our most vulnerable patients.
The successful candidate will be working as part of the Surgery Safeguarding Team and will be liaising closely with our clinicians and our partner organisations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has an exceptional attention to detail, and who is able to prioritise a varied workload and can work independently using their own initiative.
The role requires excellent organisational and communication skills together with a professional and confidential approach at all times.

Main duties of the jobKey Responsibilities will include:- Maintaining and monitoring safeguarding registers and watch list.
- Supporting safeguarding governance, audits and quality improvement activities.
- Monitoring child failed attendances and following up with parents.
- Contacting patients, parents and carers regarding appointments and care requirements.
- Liaising with GPs, nurses, community services, social care teams, hospices and other partner organisations.

Job responsibilitiesKey ResponsibilitiesSafeguarding CoordinationActing as a key point of coordination to ensure safeguarding concerns are identified, discussed and progressed appropriately the post holder will work closely with our named safeguarding leads, and our administration team around the following key areas:
Case Management and Administration- Maintaining safeguarding registers and watch list.
- Supporting the identification, tracking and monitoring of safeguarding concerns.
- Ensuring safeguarding records are appropriately coded and documented.
- Monitoring safeguarding activity and follow up outstanding actions.
- Liaising with clinical and administrative teams regarding safeguarding processes.
Governance and Quality Improvement- Conducting safeguarding audits and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining effective safeguarding processes
- Producing reports and data requested by safeguarding leads
- Supporting compliance with safeguarding policies and statutory requirements.
Patient Engagement- Contacting parents and guardians regarding missed appointments.
- Follow up persistent non-attenders and encourage uptake of vaccinations.
General Responsibilities- Always providing excellent patient-centred service
- Maintaining confidentiality and complying with GDPR requirements.
- Working in accordance with practice policies and procedures.
- Participating in training, supervision and appraisal
- Undertaking other duties consistent with the role and grade as required.
Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- GCSE English and Maths level C/4 or above
- Experience working with confidential information
- Experience managing competing priorities and working accurately under pressure
- Good Communication Skills
- Ability to work under self-direction and too targets
Desirable- Previous Safeguarding experience
- Experience of work in General Practice, Primary Care or the NHS
- Familiarity with clinical system EMIS Web.
