Job summaryThe permanent Tier 2 Clinical Fellow post aims to give a Paediatric doctor, who is interested in pursuing a career in Neonatal medicine, an opportunity to undertake a clinical role with training opportunities.
Main duties of the jobThe Clinical Fellow will undertake clinical commitments to support the clinical neonatal service. The clinical work would be 100% of WTE.
Thepost holder will work a 1 in 15 rota of prospective cover of the clinical service. There will be time available for education work and unit clinical, management and educational meetings. This is a non-training post.

Job responsibilitiesThe post holder will be expected to participate in the middle grade rota and to assist in providing:
Resuscitation for newborns and their subsequent management
- Care of newborns on the postnatal wards
- Care of newborns on the transitional care ward
- Performance of the clinical work required in the Neonatal Unit including intensive care which also includes use of HFOV, Nitric Oxide, and Cooling for HIE.
Duties include undertaking clinics involving the follow up of new-born infants.
The clinical fellow will work with ST3-7 trainees and ANNPs on average on a 1 in 15 shift based rota. Shift times are 8.30am to 9.00pm, 8.30pm to 09.30am and 0900 to 1700.

EXPERIENCEEssential- Minimum 1 year experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (Level 3 NICU) as a middle grade
- Sound experience of advanced neonatal procedures
SKILLSEssential- Ability to work independently as a middle grade on a surgical NICU
- Teaching experience
- Enthusiasm to teach others
