Main duties of the jobThis is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and highly experienced professional to help lead our Children in Care Team. We are looking to recruit a compassionate Team Lead that is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of all children and young people referred into the service. About usWe are a recently formed service for children in care (up to age 18 years old). The aim of the service is to help children and young people in care to achieve improved emotional health and wellbeing enabling them to engage in meaningful relationships, participate positively in the community, and take advantage of opportunities in education and learning
It aims to meet the specific and often complex psychological health and well being needs of children in care and the systems in which they are cared for. The service is multi-faceted and includes highly specialist assessments, individual therapeutic support using evidence based practice, advice, consultation, and supervision. The Children in Care Team Lead will be working to provide evidence based support and measuring outcomes to contribute to service development in meeting young people's needs

Job responsibilitiesThe successful applicant will need to have an abundance of leadership skills, excellent communication skills, data reporting skills, a high level of clinical knowledge and be able to act autonomously and accurately with high levels of accountability.

Person SpecificationEducation and QualificationsEssential- Professional qualification in a mental health related subject, e.g. Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or equivalent.
- Degree/equivalent experience in CAMHS related field
ExperienceEssential- CAMHS experience of working therapeutically with Children and young people in Care
- Experience of working with multi agency systems around children and young people in care
KnowledgeEssential- Demonstrates extensive experience of working in specialist CAMHS with Children and young people in care.
