Psychological Lead Therapist to join our Perinatal Mental Health Team. This is a unique opportunity to deliver evidence-based psychological therapies, including parent-infant interventions, while helping to shape service development and clinical practice. You will be provided with parent-infant therapeutic intervention training.
Closing- 18th October 2026Shortlisting- 21st October 2026Interview- 29th October 2026Main duties of the jobMain Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality psychological therapy, including parent-infant interventions, across a range of settings including homes, clinics, and via telemedicine.
- Make autonomous clinical decisions and contribute to care planning.
- Provide consultation and support to colleagues across the team.
- Assist the Team Manager and Clinical Lead with operational duties and service development.
- Engage in training to deliver specialist therapies that support perinatal mental health and parent-infant relationships.
- Promote a perinatal frame of mind in all aspects of care, enhancing the parent-infant relationship.

Person SpecificationQualificationsEssential- Doctorate level training in clinical or applied psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical, psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS, or a BPS Statement of Equivalence. AND Experienced of providing therapy in a mental health setting.
- OR Specialist post graduate training to masters level or equivalent in a psychotherapeutic modality AND Experience of providing therapy in a mental health setting AND Accreditation from a recognised Psychological Therapy body ie. BABCP, BACP, UKCP via: (a) Professional route; requiring previous mental health qualification e.g. Clin. Psych., RMN, Dip. SW. or (b) where applicable, the KSA (knowledge, skills and attitude) route (e.g. with the BABCP).
Desirable- Experience of providing dyadic therapy to parents and infants
ExperienceEssential- Experience in relevant area of mental health practise.
- Application of minimum of 2 years delivering evidence based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service
- Clinical leadership experience.
Desirable- Involvement in innovative clinical practice. Experience delivering psychological therapies to groups of patients. Experience in applying specialist psychological therapies. Experience of delivering psychological therapies to people with psychosis (CBTp/ FI)
KnowledgeEssential- Evidence based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service. Relevant specialist clinical courses/training. Research awareness Some understanding of the importance of the parent-infant relationship.
Desirable- Involvement in clinical research programmes
