Description

Job summary
The Department of Neuropsychology at Southmead Hospital is seeking an experienced Assistant Psychologist to take up a senior role within our assistant psychology team. You will coordinate the day-to-day work of the team and support the neuropsychologists with complex patient work, including neurosurgical investigations such as functional MRI and sEEG language mapping. You will need at least a year's experience as an Assistant Psychologist in a neuropsychology assessment service.

Main duties of the job
You will conduct neuropsychological assessments with inpatients and outpatients, score and collate the data, and present it alongside your behavioural observations to the supervising Clinical Neuropsychologist. You will run functional MRI sessions independently, liaising directly with Radiology, and support sEEG language mapping alongside the neuropsychologist, neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist. You will travel to Sulis Hospital in Bath to carry out inpatient assessment around our normal pressure hydrocephalus clinics. Alongside clinical work, you will help organise assessment schedules across the assistant psychologist team, assist with training our Band 4 assistants, maintain the clinical database and test inventory, and contribute to audit and research. You will be supervised throughout by a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist, and supported to plan your own development.
