We may close this vacancy early due to high volumes of applications received.Main duties of the jobThis is a specialist Band 6 midwifery role within the Infant Feeding and Nurture Team, providing both clinical and non-clinical support Monday - Friday across maternity services in City and Weston.
The post holder provides specialist infant feeding care for inpatient and outpatient families, including work within the midwife-led tongue-tie service.
Alongside clinical practice, the post holder supports implementation and sustainability of the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) Standards through audit, service evaluation, quality improvement, staff education, guideline development and related service-development activity.

Person SpecificationKnowledge and ExperienceEssential- Robust knowledge of BFI Standards and awareness of relevant infant feeding policy, evidence and strategy. (A&I)
- Skilled in providing evidence-based, non-judgemental support in sensitive and complex infant feeding situations. (A&I)
- Able to prioritise and manage a varied workload, work autonomously and remain effective under pressure. (A&I)
- Competent in use of clinical and Microsoft 365 IT systems (A&I)
- Able to collate, interpret and present audit/service data (A&I)
- Substantial Band 6 midwifery experience, including support for complex infant feeding difficulties. (A&I)
- Experience of supporting or developing staff learning through teaching, coaching or resources. (A&I)
- Engagement in audit, service evaluation or research. (A&I)
- Experience of quality improvement, change management or service-development activity. (A&I)
Desirable- Able to collate, interpret and present audit/service data (A&I)
Qualifications and TrainingEssential- Registered midwife with NMC and minimum 3 years' experience as a Band 6 midwife
- Training and experience as an Infant Feeding and Nurture Link Practitioner or equivalent, to include audit training (A&I)
Desirable- Further training in infant feeding/lactation support. (A)
