Job summary
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Children and Young People's (CYP) Integrated Therapy Team, providing clinical and administrative support to the Physiotherapy team.

Working with direct and indirect supervision from qualified physiotherapists, you will deliver aspects of clinical management, including implementing and progressing interventions for children and young people. This includes group delivery across a variety of settings -- mainstream schools and nurseries, special schools, clinics, and the child's own home -- some of which you will undertake without direct supervision.

Key responsibilities include:

• Documenting and evaluating interventions, and liaising with qualified physiotherapists on outcomes
• Supporting the team to deliver training to parents and the wider workforce
• Acting as a technical resource for the provision of equipment
• Completing non-clinical tasks within the CYP Physiotherapy service

You will be an integral member of the team, contributing to high-quality care for children and young people across the service.

Main duties of the job

• Undertake assessments and treatments with children and young people (CYP) as delegated by qualified physiotherapists, delivering individual and group interventions -- with or without direct supervision -- across settings throughout Buckinghamshire, including schools, nurseries, clinics and the child's own home.
• Plan and deliver timely interventions within the therapists' framework, feeding back outcomes to the team.
• Carry out advanced manual handling and ensure the safe, competent use of all equipment, reporting any safety issues.
• Liaise with manufacturers, the local Equipment Store and technicians on the ordering, delivery and collection of therapeutic equipment.
• Build effective, sensitive relationships with CYP and their families, and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Plan and manage your own clinical and non-clinical workload, keeping mandatory training up to date.
• Participate in supervision, appraisal and service development, and support the education of students and other staff.
• Comply with all Trust policies, manage time and resources effectively, and report incidents appropriately.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential

• o5 GCSEs / NVQ111 / BTech
• o3 years relevant work experience

EXPERIENCE
Essential

• oPrevious experience working as a physiotherapy assistant or in a health or education environment.

Desirable

• Previous experience working with children and young people (CYP)
• Previous work in a customer facing role

SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential

• oRelevant practical work experience related to the clinical area of this post
• oExcellent interpersonal skills oAble to listen well oAble to demonstrate empathy with CYP, carers and families and colleagues oAble to communicate effectively particularly where barriers to understanding exist
• oDemonstrates a good standard of spoken and written English, including the documenting CYP care.
• oAble to organise workload and manage time efficiently.
• oDemonstrates the ability to reflect on practice with peers/clinical supervisor
