Job summary
You will be a motivated and patient focused pharmacy technician with experience of managing resources in a busy pharmacy setting. You will have excellent attention to detail and customer service skills.

Main duties of the job

• Lead the safe, efficient and patient centred operation of the CHS outpatient dispensary in line with SOPs, medicines legislation and CHS / CHFT policies
• Manage staff, resources, activity and information for the outpatient dispensary service, including rota planning, performance management and training
• Drive continuous improvement through audits, KPI tracking, incident / near miss learning and service development projects that improve flow, safety and the patient experience
• Perform a final accuracy check on dispensed medicines
• Work collaboratively with pharmacy team members and other healthcare professionals

This is a significant investment and an opportunity to enhance services for our populations in Calderdale, Huddersfield and West Yorkshire for generations to come.

Qualifications
Essential

• Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures for dispensary to degree or equivalent level acquired through NVQ3 / BTEC in Pharmacy services (or equivalent
• Registered with GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
• Completed GPhC accredited checking pharmacy technician qualification

Desirable

• Leadership / supervisory training

• Expert knowledge of dispensing processes underpinned by theory
• Rota planning, workload prioritisation and queue management in a busy workplace setting
• Accredited to do final accuracy check for prescriptions dispensed by others
• Work to a high standard of accuracy

• Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication
• Evidence of good team working and interpersonal skills

• Sound stock control principles and controlled drug governance
• Able to produce KPI reports and act on findings

• Significant post qualification pharmacy experience
• Substantial operational experience in a pharmacy setting

• Able to work across CHS / CHFT sites as required
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development and academic progression
