Job summary
Due to a vacancy, the East of England Children's and TYA Cancer (CTYAc) Operational Delivery Network (ODN) is seeking to appoint a senior team member to support the Network in delivering the NHSE service specifications for TYA cancer.

The EoE CTYAc ODN aims to improve the experiences and outcomes for children and young people with cancer. The post holder will work closely with the Children's cancer ODN Lead nurse and will form part of the CTYAc ODN senior leadership team. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Teenage Cancer Trust Lead TYA Nurse and the ODN Children's Lead Nurse as well as nurses and AHPs at hospitals across the region.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead on improving pathways of care across the East of England for TYA patients affected by cancer. The post holder will work closely with patients, commissioners, regional providers other stakeholders and clinical networks to ensure access to high quality, equitable and sustainable care for young people with cancer across the East of England. The post is full time but part time will be considered.

Main duties of the job
The East of England (EoE) Children's, Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Operational Delivery Network (ODN) is hosted through Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. It is comprised of the Childrens Cancer ODN (CCODN) and the Teenage and Young Adult cancer ODN (TYACODN) working closely together. ODN's exist to improve care across a regional basis for patients within their scope of practice.

The TYA cancer ODN covers the principal treatment centre at CUH and its associated Designated Hospitals (DH's) along with regional hospitals across the East of England.

The post holder will be a credible leader in the field of TYA cancer who exercises authority in decision making and advances the development and practice of evidence based care for TYA with cancer in accordance with the national service specifications.

They will work alongside the ODN senior programme manager, ODN Clinical Directors and the Children's cancer ODN Lead Nurse as part of a multi-disciplinary leadership team, to lead the strategic and operational development of a coherent and effective ODN and the delivery of a programme of work that addresses national and regional priorities.

The post holder will work collaboratively with all stakeholders to support the development of high quality cancer services for TYA living in the East of England providing leadership and acting as a source of expertise, advice and knowledge to ensure the young person and family are at the centre of all the ODN undertakes.

Essential
  • 1.RN Adult
  • 2.Masters level qualification in relevant subject or equivalent professional experience working with young people
  • 3.Post registration module in oncology
  • 4.Evidence of professional continuous development and portfolio of learning

  • 6.Teaching and assessing qualification

Desirable
