Clinical Endoscopist - Shape the Future of Endoscopy at CUH

Our busy 7-room Endoscopy Unit operates 7 days a week and delivers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including complex EMR, ERCP, SpyGlass, PEG and cystogastrostomy. We are an accredited Bowel Cancer Screening Centre and home to the Cambridge Endoscopy Training Academy.

We are looking for an experienced, JAG-accredited Clinical Endoscopist to join us and help develop our growing Clinical Endoscopist team.

You will have your own dedicated lists and the opportunity to work independently, supported by an experienced team of medical Endoscopists. You will also contribute to training through the Cambridge Endoscopy Training Academy and work approximately one weekend in six.

Main duties of the job
What you'll bring

• Independent experience in Upper and Lower GI endoscopy
• JAG accreditation
• Non-Medical Prescriber status, or willingness to undertake this
• Bowel Cancer Screening colonoscopy accreditation, or be working towards it
• Excellent clinical judgement and evidence-based decision-making
• Advanced communication skills, including confidence in breaking bad news
• A passion for delivering outstanding, patient-centred care

Essential

• RGN with a degree
• JAG accredited endoscopist in basic skills colonoscopy and OGD
• Research Module
• Advanced clinical assessment skills (if nurse led services part of role)
• Teaching & mentoring qualification
• Evidence of professional continuous development and portfolio of learning
• Leadership or management module
• Willingness & ability to work toward masters
• ILS/ALS
• Non-medical prescriber, or working towards

Desirable
