We are seeking to recruit a clinical nurse specialist for our gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition team, specialising in inflammatory bowel disease in children and young people's service within CUH. The post offers many opportunities to develop and shape the service, in addition to contributing to the senior nursing team across the trust.
As a clinical nurse in the service, you will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills as well as leading and influencing change. You will be motivated to make a positive difference to the child and family experience, maximising effective patient pathways and flow.
Main duties of the jobYou should be a recognised expert in the specialty of gastroenterology, responsible for assessing, developing and implementing specialist nursing care programmes and undertaking specialist nursing proceduresResponsible for providing specialist advice and support to, and liaising with, other staff. This includes attending ward rounds, provision of specialist education and training for other staff and students.
Responsible for implementing a clearly defined integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence-based care.
Required to undertake research and lead clinical audits in own specialist area.
Participating in specialist multidisciplinary teamwork focused on inflammatory bowel disease and other subspecialty areas.
You will ensure collaborative partnership working across teams in promoting service development for future expansion of Children's Services.
Working alongside the multidisciplinary teams you will be responsible for coordinating a comprehensive, integrated, service. You will provide specialist clinical skills and will liaise with all relevant professional groups and agencies within and outside the Trust to enhance the delivery of care to children, young people and families with gastroenterology conditions, providing guidance, support and advice.
