Job summaryA vacancy has arisen for a Fixed Term Service Appointment post (FTSA) in Neurology at Registrar (STRH) level within the department of Neurology based at the University Hospital of Wales.
The post is for a 6-month fixed term period (5th August 2026 to 2nd February 2027). This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated candidate interested in a career in neurology to work at registrar training grade level in the neurosciences department Cardiff.
Main duties of the jobMain duties of the job will be working alongside current specialist registrars and internal medicine trainees, under consultant supervision, managing the inpatient neurology ward and junior medical team, outpatient clinics and day unit, and be part of the out-of-hours resident on- call rota (evenings only till 9.30pm and weekend days). The successful candidate will gain exposure to the full range of acute and long-term neurological conditions and have training opportunities alongside the other registrars in the department, and to develop their own interests or projects within the needs of the department. Applicants need to have completed MRCP (part 2 and PACES), or equivalent; some previous experience in a neurology post would be an advantage but not essential.
