Scientist I (Molecular Assay Development)

Location: Guildford, UK

Join our Team:
The Scientist I (Molecular Assay Development) plays an active role in designing, optimising, and validating DNA/RNA-based assays. This is a highly practical, lab-based role with real ownership and exposure to the full assay development lifecycle.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Execute molecular biology workflows including PCR, qPCR, dPCR, and NGS
  • Design and optimise molecular assays for sensitivity and reproducibility
  • Perform analytical validation (LoD, specificity, precision, linearity)
  • Undertake additional ad-hoc tasks as required.

Education, Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
  • MSc or PhD in Molecular Biology or related discipline
  • 1–2 years’ experience in molecular assay development or diagnostics
  • Hands-on expertise in PCR, NGS and/or digital PCR
  • An eye for detail and commitment to high quality data
  • A flexible, can-do approach to the requirements of the job

Job Requirements:
Due to the nature of the role, our requirement is for this position to be Guildford based, office hours, five days per week. As a member of our highly skilled team you will receive opportunities for training and development and a competitive benefits package.
