Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Salaried GP (6 sessions) to join our team of 19 GPs to care for our 32,000 patients in the centre of Hove. We would be particularly interested in GPs who have a special interest in Frailty.

Main duties of the job
Our partnership is stable, ambitious and committed for the long term. Four of our current Partners first joined Charter as GP trainees before becoming Salaried GPs and subsequently Partners, reflecting our commitment to developing and retaining doctors.

We strongly believe in GP-led general practice. Our multidisciplinary team is designed to support and enhance GP care, enabling GPs to focus on providing expert medical care while working alongside our brilliant clinical colleagues.

We are supported by an experienced and highly valued reception, administrative and management team, and continually review our systems and workflows to reduce unnecessary administrative burden and help clinicians work efficiently and safely.

Teaching, training and professional development are central to our culture.

We are working towards the BMA model contract. GPs undertake 26 patient contacts per day, with protected time for occasional home visits, and we operate a list system because we believe strongly in continuity of care and long-term therapeutic relationships.

Job description
Job responsibilities
The post-holder is a multi-skilled General Practitioner who will deliver high-quality evidence-based clinical care to the practice population. Operating across 6 sessions per week, the doctor will maintain absolute proficiency using the SystmOne clinical platform to navigate everyday workflows, coding, and care audits. Critically, this role carries a dedicated lead portfolio for Frailty and Care of the Elderly. The post-holder will champion proactively identifying mild, moderate, and severe frailty pathways, leading multi-disciplinary clinical interventions to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential

• MB ChB, MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• Full GMC Registration with a licence to practise
• Inclusion on the GMC GP Register
• Inclusion on the National Performers List (England)
• Evidence of current active annual appraisal and revalidation cycle
• MRCGP (Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners)

Desirable

• Diploma in Geriatric Medicine (DGM) or post-graduate certification related to Frailty / Older People's Health
• Evidence of recent relevant CPD in adult safeguarding and complex multi-morbidities
