The Chilterns Neuro Centre (CNC) is looking for a Physiotherapist to join our friendly and dedicated Therapy Team, supporting people living with neurological conditions to achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.

This is an opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your clinical expertise, ideas and person-centred approach will be valued. You'll manage your own varied caseload, working closely with members, carers and other professionals to deliver high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation.

You will provide advice, education and support to CNC members and carer members to promote independence, participation and quality of life. You will also support therapy assistants and students at CNC while contributing to the ongoing development and evaluation of our therapy service, and work collaboratively with GPs, other healthcare professionals and other external agencies.

Experience of working with people with neurological conditions would be welcomed, although we are keen to hear from Physiotherapists who are enthusiastic about developing their skills in neurological rehabilitation.

Grade - Band 5
Hours - 21 hours a week, Monday Friday inclusive
Permanent post following a 3 month probationary period
Salary - £30,491 FTE pa (£17,075 pro rata)

Therapy Services Lead, Chief Executive Officer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Trustees

Job Purpose
The Physiotherapist will:

• Manage a caseload of members with a range of needs, using evidence based, member centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
• Supervise assistants and students
• Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of the therapy service.
• The post holder will receive professional support and guidance from their line manager and Therapy Service Leads.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Physiotherapist will be responsible for the following tasks and activities:

• Manage own caseload without direct supervision.
• Prioritise, assess and treat members, taking an evidence based and reflective practice approach, using a wide range of modalities and skills in order to maximise member independence.
• Identify specific problems/needs; develop goals and appropriate treatment plans in partnership with the member and others.
• Work with members, carers, other professionals and agencies to meet identified needs.
• Provide teaching and guidance to both members and carers as required.
• Evaluate member progress and modify treatment if required.
• Maintain accurate and timely member records and reports using agreed standard formats.

To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of clinical work including the management of members.

To provide comprehensive progress reports to colleagues and referring GPs, and other member services.

To assess members understanding of treatment proposals, gain valid informed consent and have the capacity to work within a legal framework.

To manage clinical risk within own member caseload.

To work within the CSP and HCPC clinical guidelines where appropriate, and to maintain knowledge of national and local standards.

Personal Development

• To actively participate in regular supervision and the development and implementation of a personal development plan.
• To complete and maintain a current CPD folder.
• To take responsibility for own professional development ensuring mandatory training is in date.
• To attend any training as requested.

Essential

• Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
• Registered with HCPC
• Evidence of CPD

• Relevant clinical courses

• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
• Evidence of varied Clinical experience during training as a student or within existing role

Desirable

• Evidence of Neurological Clinical experience as a post-graduate physiotherapist

• Working in a charitable organisation
