Salary: Up to £37,547.28 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across England and Glasgow. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.

We have an opportunity for a Quality Lead to join their team of staff.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

• You work as part of the CHG Decontamination Team with complete customer focus to ensure the sterile services unit is producing only the highest quality product at all times.
• You ensure that the unit is fully compliant in all aspects relating to quality and its delivery to the customer.
• You provide a first-class decontamination sterile service to the operating department, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments.
• You provide effective leadership and supervision within the department to Supervisors, Team Leaders, Technicians, Drivers and Administrative staff.
• You assist in the provision of decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, Sterilization and delivery of medical and surgical equipment and sundry items to/for the customer.
• You are the Unit’s first point of contact relating to Quality issues, providing guidance and taking ownership of all day-to-day Quality issues, identifying the root causes where applicable and implementing corrective actions with the Unit’s Leadership Team.
• You develop and maintain a robust process for the reporting of Non-Conformances and respond to all Non-Conformances and Service Failures within the prescribed time scales.
• You ensure that all audits are completed and all relevant documentation is comprehensively accomplished, in line with the Quality System.
• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Theatre clinical experience.
• Proven experience of working in a sterile services unit and Endoscopy decontamination unit is desirable.
• Experience of undertaking audits checking processes against compliance requirements.
• Experience of undertaking Root Cause Analysis.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a larger team.
• Ability to deliver quality work on a timely basis to meet customer and Company deadlines.
• Knowledge of The Association for Perioperative Practice.
• Ideally have experience of Quality Management Systems, ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 13485: 2016.
• Familiarity with and a good understanding of other compliance requirements e.g HTM requirements, The European Medical Devices Directive, JAG Accreditation, BSG Guidelines, UK Health and Social Care Act and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements, etc.
• The ability to attend when required regular individual / team training for Individual Personnel Development and Competencies to be maintained and enhanced.
