Job summary
An exciting opportunity to join the team at PCDU as a Band 6 Nurse, with opportunity to help support the change of PCDU to Mental Health Crisis Assessment Service.

We are looking for a registered nurse who are compassionate, motivated and approachable. In return you will be working within a supportive team with strong commitment to excellent customer care.

They will need to work across a multi-professional/ disciplinary internal and external workforce engaging service users in an enhanced assessment service to resolve immediate crisis and build towards recovery. Creative and comprehensive problem-solving capabilities for service users who require urgent assessment and brief stay at PCDU unit and or signposting.

Main duties of the job
  • Liaison with Urgent care teams to identify suitable candidates for PCDU
  • Provide therapeutic input to resolve immediate crisis
  • Create solid care plans for building resilience in the community and reduce risk of representing at Acute A&E for a mental health need.

Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
  • Registered with NMC
  • First level degree or equivalent
  • Mentoring & Assessing Qualification

Knowledge & skills
Essential
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of nursing assessment and care.
  • Demonstrates competence and sound decision-making in the assessment of acutely ill patients
  • Expert competence in the clinical skills required within the co-ordinator role
  • Must be able to contribute to supervisory process for junior staff and learners
  • Must demonstrate a high standard of written and verbal communications skills
  • Able to use computer systems to access and retrieve formation

Other
Essential
  • Must be able to travel across sites and hold a UK driving licence.
